Created by Kat Black and published by U. S. Games Systems in 2003 to achieve Black's purpose of producing a Renaissance Tarot that used the more contemporay Rider-Waite-Smith symbolic imagery and so would be easier to interpret.
One of the finest exemplars of a composite Tarot, Black's blending of late Gothic and Renaissance art is one of the finest, if not THE finest Tarot creations based on earlier art. Her collage combinations of components from 3, 4, up to as many as 10 or more paintings are among the most integrated and usually appear as if painted by one artist.
